Key Responsibilities for Maritime Segment Specialist- Offshore:

  • Work with the Director, Maritime to define the segment specific strategy
  • Consider customer requirements and work closely with internal teams to tailor innovative solutions that are synchronized with the buying needs of the sector
  • Launch the product line to the Offshore market, growing this specific line of business to exceed the business plan and targets
  • Be the guru for all things related to the Offshore market, liaising with Sales Engineer and Product lead to develop use cases
  • Work closely with the Marketing team, writing blogs and impactful stories as required

Key Experience for Maritime Segment Specialist- Offshore:

  • You to come from the Offshore market or working within the industry

Senior Communication System Engineer – Ottowa

The main focus of this role will be to Assess the performance of the LEO constellation using various use cases and deployment scenarios derived from planned customer deployments.

Responsibilities for Senior Communication System Engineer:

  • Use state-of-the-art modeling techniques and software tools (using Matlab or other script language) to do detailed performance analysis of the LEO Constellation performance in terms of data throughput, latency, satellite hand-over performance, availability based on equipment performance specifications.
  • Participate to the development of the system model software tool using Matlab or other script language along with advanced optimization tools.
  • Evaluate impact of possible changes to the system requirements on the performance of the system.
  • Document performance assessments in technical notes
  • Interface with product management to define use cases and performance evaluations required for potential customer network implementation, and model the performance achievable using internally developed tools.
  • Conduct detailed studies on system performance validating the concept of operation with respect to the interface between satellite and ground systems.
  • Work in collaboration with the Verification and Validation group to plan proper validation of the requirements to ensure appropriate system performance

Experience for Senior Communication System Engineer:

  • B. Sc. in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in satellite communications.
  • Good experience in system design, requirement management and communication systems performance assessments
  • Demonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation and coding and its impact on the satellite link performance
  • Experience with satellite link budget analyses with good understanding of effects of impairments on the link performance
  • Experience in V-model system engineering methodology
